Red Storm Rising
China’s quickly becoming the world’s leading producer of most the goods you and I use every day. It also has the world’s largest standing army. And the country still adheres firmly to a Communist philosophy that represses free speech and all the rights we enjoy. Yet our government refuses to press China on its abhorrent record of human rights and trade violations instead of demanding that China act as a responsible global citizen.
Did China Hack Obama, McCain Computers?
Updated November 10th, 2008
Disturbing new evidence of communist China’s determined efforts to hack in to U.S. computer networks. White House computers are the latest target of the communist Chinese. Computers from the Obama and McCain presidential campaigns were also hacked. Was China involved? Updated October 30th, 2008
There are new security concerns over a recent move by the Port of Los Angeles. The port has decided to use taxpayer money to purchase sensitive X-ray scanning equipment from a Chinese technology company with family ties to the Communist Chinese government. Updated October 29th, 2008
Once again, we’re facing new concerns about dangerous food imports from Communist China. China is battling its second major melamine scare this year. Now, there are fears that contaminated food has made its way into the United States. Updated August 14th, 2008
Communist China is operating at least 3,500 front companies in this country in an effort to steal our military, intelligence, and national security secrets. China has recently hacked into government computers here at home and into laptops carried by congressional delegations overseas. And the U.S. government has done little to stop or prevent these acts of espionage. The vulnerable Department of Homeland Security is now taking steps to safeguard its information. But is it too little, too late? Click here for our story. Updated August 12th, 2008
As we have reported extensively on Lou Dobbs Tonight, this country’s failed faith-based free-trade policies have helped Communist China’s economy grow at the expense of America’s middle class. Manufacturing has been one of the worst hit sectors in our troubled economy –and now it’s getting worse for all Americans. Click here for the full story. Updated August 5th, 2008
Communist China is strengthening its totalitarian police state ahead of the Olympics in Beijing. The country is jailing or killing protestors, wiretapping and surveiling citizens and visitors alike, and covering up government malfeasance. It’s a worrisome trend, even for a country already known for murdering intellectuals, journalists, and other freethinking democrats. And there’s no sign that these are just temporary measure for the games. Two China experts–author Gordon Chang, and Columbia University professor Andrew Nathan–joined the program last night. The United States is reeling from seven straight months of job losses—many of them the good-paying jobs in the manufacturing sector that were once the staple of our economy. Meanwhile, the U.S. trade deficit with communist China has more than tripled since China entered the World Trade Organization, soaring to nearly $300 billion a year. And as those U.S. dollars have gone to China, so have U.S. jobs. This country has lost more than 2.3 million jobs to China since 2001, according to a new study by the Economic Policy Institute. Adding salt to that wound: the small number of jobs that have replaced the ones shipped overseas pay less than the ones we lost. Updated July 3rd, 2008
The despotic government of Communist China continues to abuse human rights even as its moment in the worldwide spotlight draws near. Congressman Chris Smith recently traveled to the Communist county, where he was denied the opportunity to meet with dissident lawyers. The lawyers were detained, just as dozens of journalists have been detained in recent months. Thousands of free-thinking journalists, academics, bloggers, protestors, and human rights advocates have been jailed. It is a sham that this country is receiving the honor of hosting the Olympics. Click here for that story. Updated July 2nd, 2008
Communist China is under increasing fire for its record on human rights ahead of next month’s Olympic Games. But instead of responding to criticism of its own record, China has gone on the offensive against the United States. But China, under fire from the international community, is firing back at the United States, criticizing the United States for its economic problems, calling the trade policy protectionist and complaining about the decline of the dollar. Who does the Communist Chinese government think it is? And “protectionist?” Don’t they know this administration is all about free trade at all costs?! Updated June 25th, 2008
More cases are surfacing of Chinese espionage at the top levels of the U.S. government after the FBI discovered China hacked into the computers of Reps. Frank Wolf and Chris Smith earlier this month. We now know that Rep. Mark Kirk’s computers were also compromised and Rep. Wolf says that there are even more members who have fallen prey to Chinese hacking. Wolf says those members are afraid to admit that their computers have been compromised. The evidence continues to mount that Communist China runs a massive computer hacking and espionage operation – and that our own cybersecurity is woefully inadequate and out of date.
