What Foreign Policy?
For more than two decades our political leaders have engaged in fragmented policies that damage our military and trade advantages and prestige overseas.
Triple Threat: China, North Korea & Iran
Updated March 11th, 2009
![]() President Obama’s focus on his domestic agenda appears to be distracting his administration from tackling escalating threats to U.S. interests overseas. Communist Chinese ships aggressively harassed an unarmed U.S. ship in international waters in the South China Sea. At the same time, North Korea and Iran are stepping up preparations for a possible military conflict. Kitty Pilgrim has the report. Updated December 18th, 2008
Lou is joined by one of the nation’s leading experts on the Middle East and Iran. They discuss whether the Middle East is on the verge of a dangerous nuclear arms race. Updated December 18th, 2008
Outrage is mounting after the Bush administration said it’s willing to sell nuclear technology to a Gulf Arab state with close ties to Iran. That technology could be used to build nuclear material that could then be exported to other countries. Updated October 29th, 2008
Once again, we’re facing new concerns about dangerous food imports from Communist China. China is battling its second major melamine scare this year. Now, there are fears that contaminated food has made its way into the United States. Updated September 12th, 2008
The incompetent hacks that pass themselves off as “leaders” in this country just don’t get it—our national security is inexorably linked to our economic security. But while these “leaders” nobly force us not to take toothpaste on airplanes, they have watched our housing and stock markets collapse, our national debt soar, and our country become economically subservient to our oil providers and cheap trade partners. In fact, a recent government report looking 25 years into the future predicts a staggering decline in this nation’s physical and economic security, and its role as a political, cultural, and economic leader in the world. But don’t worry, our crack politicians are on the case, arguing about lipstick and running up the multi-trillion dollar bills we will pass on to our grandchildren. Updated August 14th, 2008
Communist China is operating at least 3,500 front companies in this country in an effort to steal our military, intelligence, and national security secrets. China has recently hacked into government computers here at home and into laptops carried by congressional delegations overseas. And the U.S. government has done little to stop or prevent these acts of espionage. The vulnerable Department of Homeland Security is now taking steps to safeguard its information. But is it too little, too late? Click here for our story. Updated August 12th, 2008
The world may be watching the Olympics, but all eyes are also on the situation in South Ossetia. For the latest on Russia’s invasion of Georgia and how the United States and European powers should be responding, three of the world’s leading authorities on Russia joined Lou to discuss the situation. Updated August 11th, 2008
We’re keeping an eye on the situation between Russia and Georgia. To make yourself as well-informed about the invasion as possible, watch this interview of one of the country’s leading authorities on Russia. U.S. Border Patrol agent Luis Aguilar was killed in the line of duty this year while trying to lay down a spike strip to stop a car or illegal alien drug smugglers fleeing back to Mexico. The drive of the Hummer ran Aguilar down. That man was captured in Mexico, but now, just five months later, the Mexican government has set him free. Mexico is saying that the suspect was released because of an “unspecified technicality.” Border Patrol agents who continue to serve our nation are outraged at Mexico’s action and at our country’s nonchalant response to this outrage. More pandering and cowardice by our government when it comes to Communist China: When a Maryland state legislator recently proposed a statewide ban of a dangerous chemical used in many plastics, the U.S. Trade Office notified the Chinese government of the pending legislation, effectively inviting China to interfere with domestic policy involving the safety of our citizens. China of course produces many of the plastics products that rely on this dangerous chemical. The Communist nation even sent the Trade Office a thank-you note for generously giving it the chance to interfere in our domestic affairs. Click here for our report. |
